Coach Information

Please complete the eligibility requirements BEFORE the first event you attend in order to receive your Coach Credential.

Coach Requirements for the 2025-26 Season

1.    Eligibility 
ALL coaches (CA/NV Regional Team Coaches, independent athlete coaches, and out of region coaches) need to fulfill the following requirements in order to access the venue at TJFS events.
  1. Level 100 or higher Coach Certification:  Current IFSA certification required.
  2. IFSA Coach Membership:  Coaches must present their IFSA Coach Membership number to receive the complimentary tickets (according to IFSA policy) allowed per program, based on registered athletes in event.
  3. Register for the event on LiveHeats in advance: You will not be able to do this unless you have an active Membership, so complete the above steps more than one week in advance.
  4. TJFS and resort Release of Liability Waivers:  These need to be signed by each TJFS Regional Team Coach.  Independent athlete coaches and out of region athlete coaches will also be required to sign TJFS and resort release of liability waivers; these are often included and mandatory as part of event registration on LiveHeats.
2. Coach Training Information
IFSA and TJFS coach training information is available to head coaches and directors to facilitate communication during staff meetings and pre-competition meetings. Individual coaches can also request, just send us an email at [email protected] for a link.

3. Event Attendance
Coaches MUST register for any IFSA-sanctioned Freeride event they plan to attend on LiveHeats.
 Links will be posted on the corresponding IFSA Event Calendar. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
4. Completion of the TJFS Coach Requirements allows:
  1. Access to the venue for all TJFS Regional, IFSA National and/or Qualifier events that are produced by Tahoe Freeride.  Coaches will not be allowed on the venue without TJFS Coach Credential.
  2. Complimentary coach ticket to registered Team coaches when provided by the mountain, within IFSA Allocation policy (see below) for coaches representing recognized teams.  Comp tickets will not be issued without a TJFS coach credential and are never transferrable to anyone.
5. Coach Tickets Issued Per Team are anticipated to be as follows:
One (1) complimentary coaches' ticket for 2-4 athletes. ticket for Two (2) complimentary coach tickets for 4-6 registered competitors. Three (3) complimentary coaches’ tickets for 7-10 registered competitors. Four (4) complimentary coaches’ tickets for 11+ registered competitors, at EO discretion. ​
